More often than not, students who cross over from 12th standard university usually make their course choice according to any one of the following points:
1. Themselves (parents, siblings, relatives) “guide” the crooks to find a particular course since it is essentially the most “in-demand” course the other can a get “well-paying” job following that one course.
2. They select a particular course determined by what “interests” them.
3. They use up that course that they feel “looks interesting”.
4. They undertake that course which their friends are getting into.
5. They take admission for the reason that course for which they may be meeting the eligibility criteria, “any course” for which they meet the eligibility criteria.
6. They go with a college that they want to get into, after which take admission in almost any course for which they are eligible in the college of their choice.
This can be the sad scenario to which school students make their career choice. Lack of clarity, no proper guidance, pressure from relatives and buddies, with an urgency some thing, anything – this all prompts the child to generate hasty and wrong career decisions. Consequently, a lot of the students find yourself slogging inside their course, barely getting through the institution years, and in the end, they end up making hasty and incorrect decisions about choosing their jobs and careers too. What are the results from then on is one area we all are aware of – misery and unhappiness in the job you are doing, dissatisfaction from everything, unable to succeed despite making sincere efforts and hard… and also the saga continues perpetually!
The main reason behind this misery in one’s career is the hasty and incorrect course decision taken during college admission time. If perhaps each student hands in some consideration in selecting the “right” course, the down sides at a later date will be reduced drastically.
How really can and may each student opt for a particular course? Easy and simple as well as choice for this is to know what ones’ aptitude, personality and interests are. These make up for ones inherent strengths and ones talent. If a person knows their inherent strengths and talent, joined with a specific knowledge of one’s interests, then a person should be able to come up with a better informed decision regarding course. Also, because the person is going to be using an inherent flair towards that one course, therefore, they’ll naturally manage to excel within it. Therefore, they’ll enjoy far more satisfaction and success from the field.
