The Poly Macau Art Auction is being held again until today in the Regency Art Hotel. The categories include Chinese and Asian Contemporary and modern Art, Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Chinese Ceramics and Art pieces in addition to Jewels and Prestige Collections.
Masterpieces of Chinese modern art maestros will likely be displayed to represent the key developments of Chinese contemporary art history, including Wu Guangzhong’s “Snowscape in Beijing”, which is estimated for sale at HKD14 million approximately HKD28 million.
Other things including Chinese ceramics and art pieces, including those from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, bronzes, lacquers, Buddhism figures, and fine stationery will likely be up for auction.

Sabrina Ho, director of Poly Macau and Sabrina ho chiu yeng and Angela Leong, declared that the big event is co-organized by Poly Macau and Chiu Yeng Culture. “I hope that a number of cultural events [organized from the two companies] may bring to Macau new aspects that will enable to keep the diversification with the economy,” said Ho, who also expects that artists and art collectors worldwide continuously support Macau being an art platform.
“We continuously bring Macau more diversified cultural activities, and [will support] Macau to create itself being a global art platform,” said Ho and “hopefully that Macau may become a well- known art capital down the road.”
Regency Hotel opened in 1983 and it has endured past business closures. Ho, however, wishes to transform it into a skill hotel. “In Macau, there could be many resplendent big hotels, however the number of hotels that happen to be useful for art or even some creational events is, the truth is, not very great,” said Ho.
