Cardada Cimetta
Have you ever believed that above Locarno there exists a view point from where you can see simultaneously the best point (Lago Maggiore) as well as the highest point (Dufour Peak in Monte Rosa) in Switzerland?
For the summit of the mountain, 1671 meters above sea level, a viewing platform was built which overlooks your entire region of Lake Maggiore. Towards the east the view stretches from your Magadino Plain to Bellinzona. Towards the west the view extends over one of the most famous peaks from the Swiss Alps for example the Dufour. Towards the south, past the mountains that surround Lake Maggiore, you can view from the distance the Ligurian Apennines, located near Genoa.
Further down, a number of meters from the arrival station in the cable car a footbridge was built which winds its way over the tops with the trees with the woods below. From this unusual scenic promontory you’ll be able to admire the river, the Centovalli and parts of the Maggia Valley.
