Many reasons exist why knee pain can take place. Ignoring these problems can worsen symptoms making treatment difficult. If under different conditions you really feel pain from the knee joint, then you should contact the diagnostic center and, in the case of complications, start treatment.
Knee pain after running
Knee pain often occurs after running. In most cases, knee pain after running is harmless. It is going to disappear no after a couple of days later. If the pain is quite severe or persists for a long time, you should consult a doctor and stop playing sports. There could be inflammation inside the knee joint. Other possible reasons:
– In beginners, the ligament and articular cartilage might not be adapted on the increased load.
– The runner already has cartilage damage, so there is an inflammatory response from a workout.
– Inflammation in the knee joint with bursitis.
– The patella isn’t exactly adapted for the model of the sliding channel inside the thigh.
Misalignment, including bending your knees or bending your legs, can aggravate knee pain after having a run.
Knee pain after upright
Pain that develops after a period of physical rest and also at the beginning of movement is termed starting pain.
– Osteoarthritis in the knee (abnormal wear with the cartilage inside the knee joint, also referred to as knee osteoarthritis) is the most standard reason for morning knee pain and starting pain within the elderly.
– Patellar Tip Syndrome: In such cases, the tendon attachment site that connects the kneecap to the tibia becomes inflamed. At the beginning of the movement there exists a stabbing pain, which subsides after warm up.
– In the elderly, degenerative diseases of the cartilage and meniscus are often the reason. Wear and tear on the knee can lead to meniscus tears, cartilage wear, and osteoarthritis with the knee.
– Such degeneration can also be a result of older sports injuries which may have not fully healed and accelerate the wear and tear with the knee joint.
Knee pain when climbing stairs
Possible reasons for knee pain when descending a mountain:
– The cartilage inside the femur is broken, hence the patella can no longer glide properly.
– Bursitis causes force on the sliding tissue in front of the patella and within the patellar tendon.
– There’s a tear or problems for the cruciate ligament. A knee without cruciate ligament is unstable during certain movements and arches towards the sides.
