The 2 Wheel Self Balancing Electric Scooter

With the launch of the new 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 continues to be a fantastic year for gadget fans. Across the world, folks are taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to create photos and videos of themselves zipping around for this 2 wheel contraption which basically appears like a board using a wheel on both sides.


A cross between a skateboard plus a segway, this mini Segway (minus the handle) type thing is bolstering in popularity, fuelled partly through the amount of celebrities that have been seen on a single. From Bieber assault to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, all have tried their hand at this nifty little gadget, and appear to have had a lots of fun doing this.

Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (due to it’s likeness for the Segway, however a ‘cooler’ version) nobody is sure entirely where this type of self balancing scooters descends from or who invented the first. Almost certainly it descends from some factory in China. The initial glimpses we saw of it on tv were a product or service called the IO Hawk, a scooter that sells for an impressive $1800. This became back January of 2015. Subsequently many cheaper versions of the identical product attended on the market along with the average price right now is apparently around $500.

So how exactly does it work? Basically you climb onto the two panels and shift the body weight slightly forward or slightly back and yes it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. It can also turn right or left. This self balancing scooters is becoming so well received it’s actually being touted because the personal mobility device for the future. Who would like to walk when you can glide, right? Plus it is a lot quicker than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
