There are plenty of different lotions and potions available to maintain your hair and skin these days that it’s hard to pick the best one. For a visit in your local drugstore, you will end up greeted by row after row of shelves full of various products, all promising to function wonders and build miracles. I believe the sole strategy for finding out which items are good for you is usually to experiment and check for yourself. One among my favourites that I’ve been using for a time now is argan oil.

Sometimes referred to as ‘liquid gold’, it’s a natural product, obtained from the kernels from the argan tree which can be indigenous to Morocco. It’s used as a moisturiser plus products to tend hair. The reason is , the reality that the oil carries a high nutrient content which is abundant with fat, anti-oxidants and e vitamin that’s vital for healthy skin and hair. It is also renowned in making hair soft, silky and shiny and to make locks more manageable. Other reported important things about argan oil for hair range from the promotion of healthful hair growth, prevention of scalp dryness and itching and the restoration of dry and damaged hair. Like a non-greasy, easily absorbed oil it is utilized as an epidermis moisturiser which can benefit dry skin in particular. It is also recognized for it’s anti-ageing properties and lots of advocates of argan oil have stated the way it aids their skin disorders such as acne and eczema. Personally i have tried best oils for dry skin to help treat dried-out skin on my joints and yes it worked very well to me and left my skin beautifully soft and smooth without having irritation.

Because of it’s benefits, celebrities including Jennifer aniston, Charlize Theron, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Taylor Swift are typical users of argan oil to assist look after their hair and skin. It’s even start to appear in mascara formulas as it’s claimed it helps to generate your lashes longer plus more lustrous. My locks are very dry and possesses a wiry texture (it almost seems like fine fishing line) and also the oil in it’s pure form aids you to add moisture and softness to my hair. If you are sufficiently fortunate to get have naturally soft hair, argan oil is a nice finishing touch to provide extra gloss and shine.

Although finding shampoos, conditioners, hairdressing products and skincare products containing argan oil is straightforward, due to the oil’s rarity they are available at a relatively high price. When i previously mentioned, the oil is taken from the argan tree which can be seen in southern Morocco. The standard technique of extracting the oil would have been to collect argan fruit, dry it, extract the nuts, crack them to reveal the kernels and then to crush them to release their oil. The task was over personally and took fifteen hours of labour and 32 kilograms of fruit to generate just one single litre of oil! These days the kernels are mechanically cold pressed (heat damages the oil’s chemical properties). The tree is rare, extracting the oil is labour intensive… to ensure the high price. However, the good news is just a little oil goes quite a distance.

The scarcity from the argan tree is how the problem lies. There are plenty of products in the marketplace now which contain argan oil or are marketed as ‘argan oil’ or ‘Moroccan oil’. Though if you examine the label, you’ll find often other ingredients (such as silicon) in larger quantities than the actual argan oil. Cosmetic companies have to work hard to ensure the availability of argan oil is sustainable as well as a top quality, untainted by other oils or substances.

How do we know you will get the real deal? If you are purchasing a product containing argan oil – look at the ingredients. Check for ‘argania spinosa kernel oil’, it should be high up the ingredients list and ideally, the product or service should contain as few ingredients as you possibly can. The greater ingredients which the oil is combined with, the less capable the oil will be. If you are buying pure argan oil, make sure it is in the dark coloured bottle as the light passing by way of a clear bottle can breakdown the oil’s chemical properties. Some goods that are marketed as argan oil also contain a carrier oil such as olive or sunflower oil. Be mindful of the cost you might be paying. Argan oil does not have to be very expensive but at the same time, it is just a rare oil that is labour intensive to create and thus isn’t usually sold at a ‘giveaway’ price. The best argan oil product might not be the costliest but remember the old saying, ‘you get what you pay for’.
