The cast of characters are settling looking their new situations. They think that nothing much needs to be happening to upset that world, yet, they may be surprisingly wrong.
This tale of innuendo, gossip, lies, misdirection and intrigue comes across authentically as a comedy of errors and misinformation. The idea is not hard enough and subtle enough to give a good base.
Ma Foster provides housing to be with her “girls,” Bella, Chloe and Kitty. Currently the three in residence are missing. Ma makes a big deal regarding it. She even goes to the area newspaper in the event the local police usually do not act upon her fears. She does catch the attention of the out-of-work detective, the new editor from the local newspaper and last but not least the location itself.
The central character is Henrietta, who had been named after the town showcased, Henryetta, Oklahoma. Henrietta offers quite a bit going for her these days, she gets transferred to the big city, OKC, OK and landed employment with the local t.v. station. Another main characters are Gigi Carpenter, a feminist reporter turned editor from the local newspaper. Max (Maximo) Morgan a would-be gum shoe private eye using a penchant for old murder mysteries, especially Dashiel Hammet’s “Fat Man” tales. Then Deano DeBoffo because “reality” show director looking to shot an airplane pilot for any new show. Finally, Shatner Lapp, as a newsman, publisher, editor and all-round ancient boy, concerns town to aid in his Princeton buddy’s newspaper problems.
Once these individuals get involved with the gossip laden townsfolk, the misinformation flies. With additional rumors then your facts probably warrant, a few missing girls be and more objects of speculation and intrigue while very little factual information is given. The rumors start out mild because missing girls are simply searched for by Ma and Maximo.
These rumors and gossip finally lead up to an important “reporter war” between Shat and Gigi. The misinformation here becomes the avalanche cascading in the news therefore the townspeople.
